Setouchi Fishing Experiences Where They Cook Your Catch: The Bookable Options Compared
Quick answer: Bookable fishing trips in Setouchi that end with eating your own catch are few. The most practical is the Oshima fishing boat on the Shimanami Kaido (¥15,000 per adult, catch cooked on a charcoal grill, minimum 3 adults). The most complete is a KKday package at Uno Port in Okayama — a night at UNO HOTEL, a morning’s boat fishing and your catch cooked at a hot spring, with an English or Chinese guide — but it showed “SOLD OUT” with no price on 3 November 2026. At the top end, a Viator trip in Kure (about ¥120,000) ends with a chef’s dinner made from your catch; at the low end, an Etajima island day camp (¥13,000) turns the catch into lunch.
I often ride charter boats in the Seto Inland Sea, and I’ve been tai-rubber fishing on a boat out of Uno Port. On a fishing trip along the Shimanami Kaido, the hotel I stayed at cooked my sea bream as sashimi and nitsuke — see A Fishing Trip on the Shimanami Kaido. I haven’t booked any of the products compared below, so this comparison is what I’ve researched.

Why there are so few
On 3 November 2026, the big booking sites had very little Setouchi fishing:
- asoview: no fishing results for Hiroshima, Ehime or Kagawa, and one in Okayama (octopus pots, no cooking).
- Rakuten Travel Experiences: no fishing products in Hiroshima, Okayama or Tokushima.
- GetYourGuide and Klook: no Setouchi fishing product found. Viator: one Kure trip appears on sites that mirror Viator’s listings, but it didn’t come up in Viator’s own search on 3 November 2026.
Nothing in Kagawa or Tokushima made the list. Most charter boats here take bookings by phone, in Japanese — see the last sections if you’d rather go that way.

How to choose
- Everything arranged, with an English guide: the Uno package, if new dates appear.
- A group of 3–7 adults on the Shimanami Kaido: the Oshima boat.
- A couple or solo traveller: Etajima (weekends), the Uno package or the Viator trip — the Oshima boat needs 3 adults.
- Families: Etajima and the Oshima boat have child prices; the Uno package is ages 6+, 727hoppers ages 4+.
- A special-occasion dinner: the Viator trip in Kure.
- An island night, and you can manage in Japanese: NAVEL no Gakko.
If you’d rather book a plain charter
You can also join a regular charter boat and arrange the cooking yourself — ask your hotel when you book whether it will cook a guest’s catch. How to book a charter, and why tai-rubber suits beginners: How to Join a Fishing Charter in the Seto Inland Sea.
